Real Madrid brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold with a long-term agreement

Trent Alexander-Arnold's comeback is advancing according to plan, giving hope that the Madrid right-back might be fit soon enough to face his previous club Liverpool in November's Champions League tie.

The 27-year-old player suffered a hamstring injury during a match against Ligue 1 side Marseille in the group stage of the tournament on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold exited the pitch in the fifth minute, with initial indications suggesting a possible absence of around six weeks.

Real Madrid are scheduled to visit Liverpool on 4 November for the Champions League fixture—precisely over a month since the injury happened.

Sources familiar with the player's condition suggest that the player's recovery is advancing positively, and there is optimism that Alexander-Arnold could achieve his first return to Liverpool's stadium since signing for Real Madrid in June.

A longtime Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold earlier stated that departing from the club he joined as a six-year-old academy talent was the "hardest choice he's ever taken."

During his spell with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold notched 354 games, contributing to secure two English top-flight championships, a Champions League, and the FA Cup.

Since his transfer to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has appeared on five occasions across all competitions, accumulating 156 minutes of playing time.
