Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by instructing students that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on British schools, stating that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a walkout by educators soon after winning the next general election,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They create division, not uniting us. They are feeding this negative culture.”

In response to these assertions, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his public life on coded rhetoric and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a fight,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and seems not to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks indicated the party would overhaul the educational framework. He said: “We face an enormous task with education – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind as opposed to what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned at school, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated such groups were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to your online courses. I pledge this tonight and I will follow through.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of freedom. The college furnishes these excellent programs for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
